Privacy Policy — Ecom Media Downloader

Short version: Ecom Media Downloader does not collect, store, or sell your personal data. It runs entirely in your browser. The only outbound request it makes is to verify a license key you enter (via Gumroad). Downloaded media is saved directly to your computer.

1. What this extension does

Ecom Media Downloader lets you download product images and videos from e-commerce product pages (AliExpress, Amazon, Shopee, Taobao, and 1688) and pack them into a ZIP file, optionally with product information and export files.

2. Data we collect

We do not collect any personal data. Specifically:

We do not track your browsing activity.
We do not use analytics or advertising.
We do not have servers that store your information.
We do not sell or share any data with third parties.

3. Information stored locally on your device

The extension uses your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) only to keep, on your device:

Your daily free-download counter (to enforce the free-trial limit).
Your PRO license key and activation status, if you entered one.

This data never leaves your device except as described in Section 4.

4. Network requests

The extension makes network requests only in these cases:

License verification: when you enter a license key, the key and the product identifier are sent to Gumroad's public license API (api.gumroad.com) to confirm the purchase. This is handled by Gumroad under Gumroad's Privacy Policy.
Media download: to build your ZIP, the extension fetches the image and video files directly from the e-commerce site's content servers. These files are saved to your computer and are not sent to us.

5. Permissions

downloads — to save the ZIP and media files to your computer.
scripting & host permissions — to read the media on the product page you are viewing.
storage — to store the free-trial counter and license locally.
activeTab — to act on the tab you are currently on when you click the extension.
declarativeNetRequest — to add a referer header so certain video files (e.g., AliExpress) can be downloaded.

6. Children's privacy

This extension is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
